Equipment for wired in sound system

I have my new home wired for a sound system, speakers & controls are wired in ( I haven't moved in yet) What will I need to have to recieve the sound etc? .. thanks in advance, I haven't done this before

This really depends on what your using the sound system for. Are we talking about a television, stereo, computer or what? Theres different connections for different devices so if you already know what you'll be using we should be able to help you get it all working.

I would likely be using it for music mostly , but after thinking about it, would that also be used for surround sound?.. as you you see, I am as green as grass .. Thanks for your reply
