Ok im having the same problem as the person before me when i start up my computer with the pop up saying c windows config lsass.exe make sure spelled correctly try again. well i got hijackthis and scaned and saved the log file can yall help me with this.

Hello bigeasy420, and welcome to our forum

Warning these instructions are for this thread only!
You should never attempt to use them for anything else!

Please copy this to Notepad and save it to your desktop or print it. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order it is mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.
You should not have any other open windows when you are following the procedures below.

Start HijackThis and click the Config button, now click Msic Tools, next click Open Process Manager.
Now scroll dow to C:\WINDOWS\Config\lsass.exe, select it and then click the Kill Process button.
(If it's not there then it's ok just move to the next step)

Click the Back button in the lower right, now click scan and put a check next to each of the following entries:
F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Config\lsass.exe
O18 - Filter hijack: text/html - (no CLSID) - (no file)

Now click the "Fixed checked" button and then close HijackThis

Click Start, click My computer and then right click on your C: drive and select "Properties"
Now click the "Disk cleanup" button, in the next window put a check next to Recycle Bin, Temporary Internet Files and Temporary Files click OK and then click yes in the popup window.

Go to My Computer->Tools/View->Folder Options->View tab and make sure that 'Show hidden files and folders' is enabled. Also make sure that Display the contents of System Folders' is checked. Remember to reset these when done.
Delete the following File:
C:\WINDOWS\Config\lsass.exe

If you cannot delete these file(s)then:
Start HijackThis and click the Open the misc tools section now click Delete a file on reboot
Select the following file to be deleted on reboot:
C:\WINDOWS\Config\lsass.exe

Click open and click tes to reboot now.

After the restart please post a new HiJackThis log when you reply.

after i went thorugh the steps and went to look for the file i went to c windows config and that folde was empty. and went through all the steps like you said so if you could help me further i would greatly appreciate it

ok maybe it was deleted after i restarted my computer the message didnt come up but i didnt delete it myself. im not sure what happened but this is was hijackthis says now for log
