update is dabs are starting to take the biscuit.
First, after I asked them about stock due date of the case, they say 'We currently have an expected due date of 18/04/08 for delivery to us from the manufacturer.'
This has been followed by 4 possibly automated emails stating a 'New Estimated Stock Availability' of:
24/04/2008
25/04/2008
28/04/2008
29/04/2008

Now I've just checked the website and the case is 'obsoleted product', 'Discontinued'.
NICE OF THEM TO EMAIL ME ABOUT IT

*insert cursing here*

Not as good as the old one but best they had in stock at a decent price.
Already in the post, should be delivered by Friday.
At last building can commence.

Ok, while CSS is installing on my parents PC  update...

Building began at 9pm, built and booted by 11 pm.

This thing was the only real hold up I had. Fitting it into the case seemed too awkward and although popping out the spare metal at the audio jack end was easy, the bits covering the ethernet and PS2 ports were a bit messey.
Image

Up and running.
Image
Crapped myself when I first turned it on. The fans kicked up so I was happy, then a few seconds later they started to spin down again. *insert crapping here* a few seconds later and they were spinning again. relief :)

Me installing UT GOTY :D

Winrar benchmark scores 1230 KB/s

New fan installed in the front and HDD moved so air is blown over top and botton.
Image

After I installed anti virus and such I finnally connected it to the network so it could start updating.
Image

Job complete.
Image

There was trouble with validating Windows.
Then there was MORE trouble when we tried to purchase a new copy online.
The website was taking FOREVER to load each page.
Then after clicking *confirm purchase* I was sent to a screen saying 'unable to provide user with key'....
a wtf email has been sent to the 'genuine advantage' dept.

Also, that new fan in the front is spinning at 2000 rpm ish.
This is too fast and too noisy. I can't find anything in the BIOS that lets me change it's speeds.
Installed speed fan and none of the controls effect it's speed.
A more recent BIOS is available from the website but after reading the file that comes with it about how to flash a BIOS I decided it'd be best if I didn't :S
Some help with this would be really appreciated.
That's all so far.

Hey si, looks awsome. I think this is what you need for your fan.

or for something nicer looking

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showprodu ... subcat=189

I think the first one would be fine, aslong as the fan is a 3-pin.

Glad you mentioned that.
I had a word with Dad and he's intrested in getting a fan controller just like the 2nd link you gave.

Also, since the other panel of the case doesn't come with thumb screws, and it's already annoying him a little  I'm going to see if he wants to get .
I also thought I'd get him a just to complete the package.

I've managed to get the CPU fan to run at about 75% through the BIOS settings. It was going at about 2100 rpm at default and letting out just too much of a whine.
That PC is so quiet now, better than my water cooling with the fan on lowest.
I even ran the CPU at 100% in the winrar benchmark at the new fan speed and the temp peaked at 50°C. I should OC it or something

Something I think I'll ask about. In speedfan, it can decect core0 and core1. Things seem a bit odd though since core 0 is always a about 5°C hotter than core 1. Could this be down to a bad seal with the thermal paste?
I just left on what came with the heatsink and stuck it down.

Hi,

One thing you need to make sure is the if the layout of the old PC case can take the new mobo.
