Opera browser question

Hey guys.

When I download anything using Opera the 'transfers' window always pops up.

Does anyone know how to stop it from popping up? It's a tad annoying when I'm downloading lots at once

i havent used opera in so long i couldnt give you an answer, really forgot it even existed to be honest. Im so accustomed to firefox its a shame. You have what sounds to be the same thing in firefox which is basically a downloaded manager that pops up every time you start a file download but to my knowledge theres no solid way to keep it from coming up. I just leave mine open in the background if i have files downloading, for me its a "out of sight, out of mind" kinda thing.

I also find the download manager annoying on firefox, but as jim said, once its out of sight its out of mind (minimize )

I know you can stop it from popping up for firefox. Tools, options, main, downloads.

I'd expect opera to have a similar option but I've never used it so I don't know.

btw, here's a few things I'd recommend to any new firefox user.

speeds up all sorts of things from menu loading to website loading.

2 more parameters I change:
browser.enable_automatic_image_resizing I set to false since I prefer images at 1:1 scaling even if they don't fit my monitor.

browser.tabs.closeButtons I set to 3 because I like to open lots of news tabs at once to get them loading then just hit the X once I'm done, very effortless.

Lastly, add-ons I recommend:

Flashblock
Flashgot
dictionary
adblock plus
duplicate tab (most people prefer tabmix plus)
URL suffix (doesn't work with version 3.#.# but people are working on )
