User Account Password and how to bypass?

Ok here's the scenario. pc A dies so I remove the hard drive (which has had a User Account password in place) and connect it to pc B as a slave to retrieve information. Problem = Even though I can see the drive and I can access it most of my files are not viewable. So how do I dissable the password (which I assume is the problem) so that I may retrieve my files?

Of course I know the password that's not the problem the problem is the original computer doen't work so it's hard drive, that I'm trying to acceess, is in another computer and I'm trying to access it there. So any ideas?

The thing is I need to gain access to My Documents and My Pictures and stuff like that but these folders are not visible.

Thats not a password related problem at all. My question would be are you looking in the right place?

open the drive in question> Documents and settings>folder with username

In there you should see My docs, pics and so on.

If you dont see those folders, let us know what you do see.

It says My Documents is not accessible. Access is denied. Also there is no My Pictures folder anywhere.

By the way. When I open up the Documents and Settings folder there only 2 folders: Administrator and All Users.

To resolve this issue, you must turn off Simple File Sharing, and then take ownership of the folder:

1. Turn off Simple File Sharing:
1. Click Start, and then click My Computer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Folder Options, and then click the View tab.
3. Under Advanced Settings, click to clear the Use simple file sharing (Recommended) check box, and then click OK.
2. Right-click the folder that you want to take ownership of, and then click Properties.
3. Click the Security tab, and then click OK on the Security message, if one appears.
4. Click Advanced, and then click the Owner tab.
5. In the Name list, click your user name, Administrator if you are logged in as Administrator, or click the Administrators group.

If you want to take ownership of the contents of that folder, click to select the Replace owner on subcontainers and objects check box.
6. Click OK.
You may receive the following error message, where Folder is the name of the folder that you want to take ownership of:
You do not have permission to read the contents of directory Folder. Do you want to replace the directory permissions with permissions granting you Full Control? All permissions will be replaced if you press Yes.
7. Click Yes.
8. Click OK, and then reapply the permissions and security settings that you want for the folder and the folder contents.

No it was not a password problem.

It was a permission and ownership problem.
You did not have permission to open the files because you were not the owner and they were not shared.
