wonky connection

Postby PearlJamaholic » Sun Apr 19, 2009 6:29 pm

the other week my parents computer would randomly disconnect and reconnect at first i thought maybe the ethernet card might be crapping out cause its an older computer. i wasnt having any problems like this at all so i figured it was their computer. then on monday or something the router stopped working completely. so i plugged each computer, separately, straight into the modem and everything worked fine and didnt see any disconnects. thats how i knew it was the router that stopped workign and not the modem or the computer(s). well now my computer has started to do this too.

since its a brand new router i dont think it could be that. besides the other computer already had this problem with the old one.

any advice? this is really annoying. i cant even use msn or anything cause it disconnects every few minutes. in fact ive been disconnected 5-6 times just typing this post......

hey, if they are all doing it whilst connected to a new router i could onyl assume it is a faulty router. take it back for a refund/replacement.

Maybe contact them and ask if there has been any faults in the area. Or say to them that you are receiving an unstable connection and see what they say.

I’m afraid i don’t really know what else to advise.
