Lost or deleted file;

HI,I need serious help but I am very computer dumb. Is there any way to retrieve a book I wrote and put on words format-not sure of name now but it was bought at Best Buy and used for that type of purpose.Anyway,someone must have deleted the whole thing and I can't figure out how to get it back.I had let grandkids play on computer..
Was there up until around March of 08...Is it gone for good? I have gotten it named on my e-mail files but it won't open-said empty-same in my documents file.Any help?

If you havent seen it since March of 08, the chances of you getting it back are gone. You can retrieve deleted files if nothing else has been written to the drive, note thats the short explaination, and in the time period your dealing with you wont be able to get anything. Im Sorry.
