PC shutting down too early

Recently, my computer keeps shutting down, and I am not sure why. It shuts before my windows loads up. I did buy a new internal drive and I am trying to get windows 7 on it, but it never booted from the disc. I started fiddling around by restarting it constantly to mess around with the boot settings in the bios. So, I am guessing it might be a metal touching issue or a drive conflicting issue. I am not sure what to do. I just want it to load my old drive for a start.

Almost sounds like a PSU issue to me.

It probably can't handle the extra output needed to run the new drive you got recently.

I'll assume your PC was from dell or another vendor for now, because they typically use cheap as chips PSUs that only just do the job and aren't expecting any extra load at a later date.

Do you know the make or recommended output in Watts your current PSU is?
