Looking for best quality

Picking up the following today:

700w Sumvision non modular PSU (cheaper than a modular fancontroller, will buy a decent ocz version if it fixes the overheating)
Gaming Case (with plenty of room and dedicated hardware trays for more neatness and more air space)
Arctic SIlver 5x2
Two chassis fans (Non coloured)

Was wondering about 3, 2 blowing cold air in, one blowing air out....might cool it down faster?

That'll depend on the case. Do you have a link to the case you've bought? If not, do you know the make and model?

The more fans, the more air flow, of course, but the temperature of the air outside the case is a factor too.

Whether it's better to suck more air in or blow more air out, that's debatable but I'd put my money on getting the hot air out.

Like I said, it will depend on the case.

Mine has a single 120mm fan at the front built in. There's no where I could fit a second fan.
Another 120mm on the side drawing air in.
At the back, I could fit a single 120mm or 2 80mm fans.

There are cases out there that can take more fans or bigger fans.

Well my case I bought supports five which will attach to the psu molex connectors, but unfortunately I dont have the right size fans, I need 9.2 and 8mm fans 2 blowing in 3 blowing out, however to run that many ill need extensions so ill probably just run 3 1 blowing in from side and 1 at back and top sucking out, just need to buy the fans as my 12mm fans are too big.

That's why I suggested the fan controller in the other thread you started.

It takes 1 of the 4-Pin standard molex connections from the PSU and you can feed or , even fans off it, AND control their speed.

All done except a few fans which have been ordered, funny what I found out!!!

There was NO compound on the cpu/heatsink, no wonder it shutdown so quick...need to test temps in windows with speedfan.

According to speedfan heres my idle temps ill edit my load when im playing mass effect.

Idle:

GPU: 45-48C
System: 34C
CPU: 35C
AUX: 34C
HD0: 28C
Core 1: 37C
Core 2: 48C
Ambient: 39C

I also should say these are stable temps hardly any movement, however I get the impression my cpu is not working right seeing as core 2 is doing more than core 1 hence the temp difference, are them temps bad or good for idle? oh im running my gtx 260 which might explain the high gpu temp on idle.

72 is pushing it, 55-65 under load isnt bad. I can see it powering off in the high 70s, there should be a bios setting to control that also.

Well it seems better, couldnt run mass effect for more than 20 mins without shutting down but with the gel and two fans it sits at a steady 63-65 temp for over an hour, I have three more fans to put in, its obvious its working i can feel the hotair coming out the top of the case...i really need to move my case its blowing right in my face lol.

going to get #a nice 22" + tft monitor soon.

running a 1024 resolution on a gtx card isnt too great lol

I do get a bit of jerky ness in loading scenes and the odd crackling sound but im running on board sound which might be why.
