Did you try to install drivers after you installed XP?

If you did, you could have messed up the pre-installed drivers in XP.

After I installed XP I noticed my mouse and keyboard were not responding.I had my mouse attached to a PS/2 socket via an adapter which I removed and then tried it in one of the USB ports.It then worked fine but my keyboard only had a PS/2 socket and still did'nt work.I then purchased a new keyboard,a microsoft internet keyboard,but this also did not respond.When I look in system devices it has an exclamation mark next to it and mentions a CODE 10 error so I unistalled it and then did a new hardware search.It found it okay and worked fine until I restart my PC and I have to go through the whole thing again.

After much installing and uninstalling I have noticed a new message which seems to shed some light on the problem.In the Device manager/resources for the keyboard it mentions,in the conflicting resources,the following:

Input/Output Range 0060 - 0060 used by:
Motherboard resources
Input/Output Range 0064 - 0064 used by:
Motherboard resources

And mentions about uninstalling devices as there are too many installed.

How do I change the I/O for my keyboard,it does'nt seem to allow me in t the Device manager menu?

I'm not sure that you can change the keyboard resources - do you know what 'motherboard recources' it is conflictig with?

No,Im afraid it does'nt say.I'm sure in previous versions of Windows,if there was a device conflict,you could manually select another IRQ setting or something.Can't seem to do that in XP.

Yeah - between Plug n Play & windows XP most resources get configured automatically. If you go to device manager & go to view & select 'show hidden devices' do multiple copies of the keyboard driver show up?

Have you tried installing SP1 and/or chipset drivers for XP?

There were no multiply copies of my keyboard listed but out of curiousity I looked at my BIOS setup and tried to find anything that mentioned 'keyboard'.The only thing I could see was something called USB Legacy Support.This was set to Keyboard/FDD so I Disabled it and now it seems to work fine,don't know why!?!
