Will upadating RAM help?

Hello everyone. I have a system like this:

Geforce 220 GT (1GB MEM)
2.9 Ghz Cpu
1GB Ram

Anyways in games like Tf2, Crysis or Mw2 I get this lag awful lag spikes. No not lag, The games run just fine. But for example when i shoot the first time it lags for about 3 secs. Or it just randomly lags for about 3 seconds suddenly. This happens in Tf2 ALL THE TIME. So i was thinking about upgrading my ram to 3gb´s.

Is this the upgrade i am looking for to get rid of the laggy spikes? Help would be very awesome

do a internet bandwith test first using either http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest, or http://www.speedtest.net and make sure you have plenty of speed available and a low ping.

1 gig of ram is quite low also, upgrading it will no doubt be worth the investment. Wouldnt hurt you to upgrade it either way but i would make sure that internet is running fine too.
