Power Supply Help

I purchased (did not build) a new computer about a month ago. You can see it here:

I purchased a fairly meaty GPU for it last week and received it today, see it here:

I popped it in and it made a very loud, high pitched whistling type noise. After some research I found that my power supply isn't powerful enough and is probably the reason for the noise (if I'm wrong let me know). I think I have a 300w PSU and the GPU needs a 500w or greater power supply with two 75w 6-pin PCI Express power connectors.

I need some help finding a new power supply that will work with my system AND the GPU I want to install. Any direction would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks for the reply. That's a bit more money that I was hoping to spend. I'll spend that much if I have to but do you know of any cheaper options that will do a sufficient job? Thanks for your time.

oh yea we can scale it down a bit, heres 2 with a little less wattage but both still good psu's. Quality means alot in a psu, you can go find a $60-$70 one with same wattage claim but it wont be accurate and it will burn up in less than a year. Antec, corsair, thermaltake or XfX all make a great product.


These are in the 750 watt range and you can drop to about 600 if you want to shave off a few more bucks probably but i wouldnt go much lower than that.
