psu problem?????

Hi, i have been having random shut downs on my pc in the last couple of weeks, have happened while running games, surfing the web or watching dvd`s.

I`m not very tech savvy (can upgrade ram, graphics card etc....) so this has me stumped

I have downloaded speedfan, but to be honest i`m not sure what i`m looking at but the voltages are as follows:
V core1 = 1.22v
V core2 = 3.15v
+3.3 = 0.00v
+5 = 4.84v
+12 = 11.58v
-12 = -16.97v
-5 = -8.78
+ 5 = 4.78
V bat = 2.98
V core = 1.00
+3.3 = ?53.0 (the first figure is`nt recognisable might be a 7 this seem way too high!!)
gpu temp shows as 29 deg C idle
internal temp shows as 33C

cpuid shows my cpu (a Q6600 not overclocked) with the following core temps at idle:
core 1 = 33
core 2 = 30
core 3 = 29
core 4 = 28

my spec is as follows:
CPU Q6600 rev B3
Asus striker extreme
Zalman CNPS9700NT fan
4Gb ocz platinum ddr2
Gigabyte GTX 460 oc rev 2
I have not overclocked this system (wouldnt know where to start!!)


Hope this is of some help to you guys, like i said i`m pretty stumped so any advise would be appreciated

I had a similar issue. Turned out to be a PSU. Once I replaced it, I have never had the same issue again.

Hi, thanks for the quick reply, could i be a pain and ask what psu you would reccomend?? i have a budget of around £65

Actually dont worry i have found one, antec true power tp-650.

Hi, have`nt brought it yet, had somthing else crop up to spend my cash on , but will let you know when its in.

try reseat the PSU connectors to the MB.

When PC powering on, press F8 and select Last known good config and press enter.
This will load the last working hardware profile.
