Are you sure the Power Supply is good?

If you have your startup cd or disk, try booting from there and let scandisk
run to check the hard drive for problems.Windows XP has a repair feature
you should also try.Boot from the cdrom drive with the WindowsXP cd
iserted.Once the cd boots, you'll have the option to re-install Windows XP
or repair.Try the repair feature.

When you get the chance visit our articles on computer troubleshooting at

It could be bad memory, a bad hard drive or the PSU. Have you tried using memtest86 to test the memory?

To all of you:

I have tried doing a repair (BSOD), I have tried doing a recovery with ERD Commander (hangs indefiniately...i was shocked thats the first time its failed me), I have tried repair via recovery console (reboots before i can do anything).

I have tried burning different ISO versions etc

I havent checked the memeory but i will do that now...i will pull the chips out one at a time and try to do a fresh install. Thats all i am interested in at this point.

I was thinking maybe both my cdrw and dvd drive were bad since they both couldnt find all of the install files and BSOD before getting to the graphical install.

Thanks for your input one and all.

Update....

I removed the first memory stick and was able to install xp to a HD attatched to a MOBO. I added my promise card and original drives and began copying my data up to the server. Once that is done i will remove the fixed HD and try to boot into to raid drives to run some time sensitive applications.

THanks to Restek, Brad and Allaboutpc for saving the day!!!!! :) :P
