Buying a new cpu [need advice]

so ive started to do a lot more PC gaming, but there's 3 (soon to be 4 when dark souls 2 comes out] that i don't have the req. for, ive been looking at a few CPU's and can post them if you'd like but i just wanna know what the best one would be, and how id make sure it would work with my PC im not super tech savvy so i was hoping maybe someone could help me out

i guess i should specify, i meet all the req. for all the games that i have and are coming out, its just my cpu that's lacking
