Is there another access number you can try ?
I have 3 and they all do the same thing. The thing is, this problem started in November when I bought this NEW computer. I had to send it back in February because it froze and I couldn't make it do anything. In the meantime, I rented one and had NO problem whatsoever with the rented one. They put a new hard drive in this one but the problem persists. SO............................what now?

After the repair you would need to reinstall any MS Windows Updates that may appear on the MS Windows Update site when you check after the repair.
OK FINALLY I did it all. I was mighty nervous about the registry but it wasn't oo bad. Now I'll have to wait and see if it worked. It took me a total of 2 1/2 hours all together with the updates and all.
Thanks for your help

OK, I've waited to respond to this because I wasn't sure what would happen. It seemed better yesterday morning, but then in the afternoon, it was doing the same thing. Now I just got an email back from PPC that I sent a week ago about this. They sent me an attachment to uninstall the old dialer and REinstall the new one. HOWEVER, OE has stripped the attachment. Is there any way I can get that back? I went and tried to change my settings but can't seem to find anything. OE isn't an option, it's mandatory with PPC.

You probably have to have the email resent.
I already asked but it takes them forever.

Download Xteq-Setup Pro from this link:

http://www.xteq.com/

After you install the program go to Internet/Outlook Express/System/Advanced Options and enable EXE attachments. Now this can be dangerous because not you can receive exe attachments so you will have to be careful to download these attachments to your hard drive and scan them for virus.
OK I'll do that!
Thanks

Can you reply to the email that you received explaining that the attachment was striped by Outlook Express and request that they resend it? They should know better than to send an attachment as and EXE anyway. They should have zipped it before sending it to you.
Actually, I went into tools/options/security, etc and unchecked the box that said to strip attachments and then went back and opened it. I was very surprised because I tthought it was gone. I did email them though and tell the,m just what you've said here and thought myself it was sorta dumb. Thanks Bob. Right now I've created a dial-up connectiona dn waiting to see how long it will let me stay on.

I seem to have pretty good luck having created the dial-up connection. The only problem I've had is that I can only use one of the access numbers, otherwise it doesn't recognize me. It still isn't like it should be though. I had really good luck with the rented computer. That's what leads me to believe, it may be something with windows.
