Done I get a message about browser objects being disabled?

It also says that tuning this on may activate any software that has been lying dormant?

Please advise

Is that message from the Google Toolbar or do you have Spyware Guard or similar installed?

Yes, turn it on. You must of had "Enable third party Browser extensions" disabled. Telling Google Yes will enable it.
If you see new BHOs (Browser Hyjackers) then let us know and we'll help you lose them.
