internet explorer error

Hello out there, a new week and a new probklem !
When I open internet explorer, I get the following message : this program performed an illegal operation and must be closed. I did already a windows over-install but without result. Has somebody an idea about how this can be fixed?

What was the error message?
Have you tried Add/Remove Programs / Internet Explorer / Repair?

I sure would like to give it a try, but it's not listed, or is it hidden somewhere that I don't know of?

have you tried windows update, to update i.e,.. or cant you get that far before you get the error...

What version of IE do you have? Have you updated as suggested by hsm?
In Add/Remove click on "Remove" Internet Explorer and choose "Repair"?
