Im Going Crazy, My Notebook Time doen't hold

Postby srchn2000 » Mon Mar 22, 2004 2:18 pm

I am really going crazy here. The time doesnt hold on my notebook. I changed the cmos battery. I turned off time synchronization. The time will also not hold when the computer goes into standby. I cant understand what is the problem. THe notebook is only a year old, of course the warranty is expired. It is an HP pavilion ze 5185. Has anyone heard of this before. Please help

Yeah I checked the time in the bios and it matches windows time by a few seconds. I changed the battery again just in case and Im going to test it today. Thanks for the link to mshelp, the scenarios didnt realy apply to me, I do not have advanced power management settings in my bios and I uninstalled my virus scan to be sure. Could the clock be bad?

Thanks in advance

I suppose it could but not likely.
Are you totally up to date with Windows Updates? Try doing that also.
Why don't you let WinXp sync. with the Internet Time Server?
