Virus infected my laptop, please help me resolve this issue.

I accidently clicked on an attachment that was sent by a friend of mine (or I thought it was from him) it turns out the email is fake and there was a virus attached to the email. Now, my Windows2000 won't boot properly.

When I reboot Windows 2000 Pro it just hangs. Then I get an error INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE.

I've tried booting from 98 startup disk and hoping I can just fdisk /mbr but I just get a "Non-Suystem disk or disk error Replace and press any key when ready" when booting from 98 startup disk.

Can anyone help?

FYI I've tried resintall Win2k Pro and it does not work. It simply gives me an error saying my hard drive has problem and I may need to reformat it.

Are you sure the Boot Disk is good?
Do you here the Floppy drive start?
Can you get into the Bios?

I believe that your system is ok-- there is a problem I believe with your bios. check to see if the drive is reconized as LBA or auto either one is ok.
try turning off virus protection in the bios if there and reboot

The basic thing to remember is this, If the cdrom with the 2000 disk won't install, you have a hardware or bios issue--or possibly a dead hard drive
