Running 2KPro can't open folders or IE

Postby chrisc » Mon Apr 05, 2004 1:07 pm

I've seen other people talking here about this problem and now my boss has it on his laptop. I can't open any folders, IE, control panel, ..... you get the point. HAve the most up to date McAffe and addaware. Both say the machine is clean. I have already taken the time to download and run highjack this. I will post the log at the bottom. On a side note., in safe mode I CAN access all the folders and files with no problem. Also, in normal mode I CAN use NEtscape which is the reason I can post this message!

Have HiJack This Fix/Remove these:
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = http://www.searchdot.net
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page_bak = http://www.findwhatevernow.com/portal/

I missed this one:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {BCF96FB4-5F1B-497B-AECC-910304A55011} - C:\WINNT\hhUU.dll

The other two are for Adobe.

that did it

Postby chrisc » Mon Apr 05, 2004 3:47 pm

Brad,
Everything is back to normal except that IE doesn't work.. He uses netscape so it's not that big of a deal... If I need to I can redownload IE anyways! Question, what was the line "O2 - BHO: (no name) - {BCF96FB4-5F1B-497B-AECC-910304A55011} - C:\WINNT\hhUU.dll" anyways. I'm an IT guy and this little bugger really had my head spinning! Thanks again!
