Sound Problem

All versions of Window XP and 2003 including 32 bit and 64 bit

I'm not sure of details as becauswe its not my problem but there is a problem with the sound on my mates pc, it will play sometihngs but not others, device manager says the devices are working properley etc. Any ideas?

Were going to need a little more info than that.What will it play and wont play?

Are the filetypes different and what is he using if any to play them?

Might be better to send him/her over to us if possible...

Drivers

Based on the information I would have to recommend that your mate uninstall his drivers and reinstall them. Its either a failing sound card or a driver issue. I would think its a driver issue though. Pay no mind to Device Manager in this situation.
