Re previous post, I got sound card back working by removing all drivers. I now have new problem:

Trying to play DVD, sound wotking fine. Had BIG crash/blue screen, lots of static noise. Since restrat, no sound, and when I try to play Windows XP sounds, to test, I get error msg "Cannot play <windows sound root> sound card may be in use" Is it liekly that my card has blown? Should I buy new one?

Please help as all was SO good since last sound problem!!

What does the Card display in "Device Manager"?
