Spyware problem

I have had some sort of spyware invade my comp.

Had my comp on one night and a pop up came up in the middle of the game i was playing... I just left it there until i got done with the game and then exited the game @ that point in time i have like 9 popups and stuff installed on the desktop as well as in the toolbar in the bottom right hand corner. I had a popup blocker but it doesn't get them all, and this pop-up installed things...sigh.

I can't open up add/remove programs or My Computer. When the window opens from double-clicking it, automatically closes itself. Numerous reboots after running several spyware/adware removal programs.

I have run BPS Spyware remover twice and some other programs as well....after the program quarantines the file i tell it to delete...but then an error will come up saying that not all the files can be deleted. I think it is because the spyware is running a program @ the time and cannot delete the files b/c they are in use.

I need help getting these programs off of my comp if not will i have to reformat????

You could try the removal in safe mode to see if that works better. If you still continue to have problems you might want to download HijackThis and post the log in a reply to this thread:

I will have to turn it off in safe mode b/c this stupid stuff won' tlet me get into any part of my computer automatically closes the window and will not let me make any changes.

WHat I'm asking I guess, is, will removing everything from safe mode be effective
