About two weeks ago, I downloaded a free trial of Zome Alarm. I was quite surprised over how many hacking attempts it alerted me of. Now I only have 2 days left before the free trial expires and I currently don't have the money to purchase Zone Alarm. Was wondering if there are any other free programs that protect against hackers. Thanks

the basic Zone Alarm is free.....u will be using the Zone Alarm Pro version...they encourage you to opt for that version when u download

SO wen it expires just opt for the basic version n you wont have to part wid any munny!

wen i had zone alarm i found that i could keep takin the free trial n they let u !! so u could have Pro all the time....

the basic version seems to do all the important stuff... but not sure if its got any of the sexy fings like hacker trakkin lol.... but if u can do widout that then u will have a free firewall without them bangin onto u all the time that ur software will expire in so many days

I should probably leave this for the experts to answer but I didn't realize that Zone Alarm expires? I have the free version and it's still working fine for me...after quite a few months. Maybe you have the program that tells you the IP addresses that the attacks are coming from? There is a free version that works just as well (I believe) but it doesn't tell you where exactly the attacks are coming from...it never expires

HTH...maybe someone else can elaborate more?

works good and is free.I havent used zone alarm enough to know for sure but i didnt think the "free" version expired either.You might have downloaded the trial version of the "plus" or "pro" edition.Here's a link to the

Don't download the Plus version. When you install it is going to give you an option to try or use the Plus version just pick the free version.

You may have to uninstall your existing copy before installing this version since you seem to already be using a Plus version.

I dont know but this post has gotten a little confusing. Are all the posters on the same page or is there some sort of little war going on? I have watched a few posts and seen some undermining. I thought the primary goal in this site was to give advice? When postee's see a conflict of interest they can get confused and decide not to post again. Lets fire some professionalism into our posts. The war was a secret,polarbear seems to have exposed us.I guess we have to come clean now.We've all been competing to see who can find the best link but so far we dont have any winners..anyone else wanna try?
