My two big problems are:
1) my homepage keeps getting hijacked and
2) I constantly get a small pop-up window that reads
"error loading winupd.dll. The specified module could not be found"
and a blank webpage opens at the same time.

Thanks for the help!

im no expert in reading HiJackThis but I did notice both Norton and McAfee were included in the logfile. I thought running 2 diff anti-virus programs would surely cause conflicts.

Im sure brad will pick up on it.

As Geekgirl stated running two AV's is going to cause you many headaches. Uninstall one.
Download / Install / Update / and Run .
Then:
Download and run:
Now Run HiJackThis and do the following:
Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted) Close all othe open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix these if they still exist:

Hi Brad and GG,
I appreciate the help immensely!

I ran Spybot and CWshredder prior to posting the logfile above. I will do so again after your new instructions are completed...

This sounds silly but HOW do I turn off my System Restore?

Thanks again,
-Matt-

ps - I use Mcafee as my AV of choice. My father in law loaded Norton when he built the 'puter. It kind of sits unused on my 'puter...I have never seemed to have a problem previusly. Maybe just pure luck?!?!?!

I'd uninstall Norton then. Use the Add/Remove Programs.
To turn off System Restore: Right Click "My Computer" and select "Properties" / Then the System Restore Tab / Put a check in the box beside "Turn off System Restore".
