I'm sending out SPAM--Please help me stop

I'm unknowingly sending out spam!!!!

Comcast has shut me down 3 times because they say I'm sending out thousands of pieces of spam. I do not use my Comcast email address for anything but they say there have been over 10,000 complaints against me since December 2003.
Any ideas what I can do to stop this???

I think this is a topic that I posted something about the other day. Im not sure how to solve the problem but some one here will. Perhaps once you solve it you might want to look at the post in SECURITY call SPAMMERS HEAVEN and take some of the precations mentioned there.

Over time I have noticed many of us are concerned about security on our systems. There is one small thing we tend to overlook and dont realize what damage it can cause.

Have you ever received an email with a long list of addresses with it. Sometimes we just take the email and forward it to some one else. This is a spammers heaven. What we should be doing is save the attachment to our documents then send it off to who ever we wish. This way all of those other addresses are not sent along with it. We all have friends on the internet and if we value them we should make an attempt to protect them as well as we would like to be protected.

If we followed this email protocol a lot of spammers wouldnt have the chance to work their nasty ways. The nice thing is this is a free way to secure our systems, granted it takes a little more effort.

You might want to go into your original post and Remove your E-mail address.It's not needed in the Post.

Download and install .
Now Run it and post a copy of the Log File here.
One of the Forums expert Log readers will look it over for.

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.) Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

Now:
Click Start / Settings / Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs: there should be an 'Httper' entry, select to remove it, it will then be delete correctly.
Also, select to remove Gator and ZipClix

Then:
Delete these Folders or Files that are Highlighted then empty your "Recycle Bin" and reboot: (You may have to boot to "Safe Mode" in order to delete some Files/Folders)

I have been watching this post closely. I would follow Brads instructions to the letter. This is about the worst logfile Ive seen yet. Once you get your system cleaned out I would suggest you download SpywareGuard and install it. Spyware guard is an anti browser hijack tool that warns you of hijiacks. I might also recommend that when things like Gator attempt to hijack you or any program tries to hijack you, you might want to check out on the net what it is before you allow it to run on your system. Some times we see things that look very inviting but in reality are harmfull to our systems. Good luck
