preview pane

When I had 98 se and went to my documents I could click on a picture and it would show it in a preview pane. Now that I have XP I have to open every picture to see what it is. Is there a way to set up preview pane in XP Pro?

no problem.... i was actually using a 3rd party utitilty called JPEG View to get thumbnail pictures before I found out it was built into winXP.

Everything is a little different in XP, but I am really satisfied with it. It runs much better with fewer crashes than 95/98/ME ever did.

Do you mind me asking why your using XP Professional?

At its most basic level, XP Professional is a business- and power-user oriented superset of Home Edition.
The most obvious difference is security, which is vastly simplified in Home Edition.
Are you a power user? Do you plan on doing any advanced networking, or using it on a LAN at work?
Just curious, more home users use Home Edition. Was wondering if there was a method behind your madness..........lol
