Can't view pictures from Canon A40

Postby Burt » Sat Aug 02, 2003 2:51 am

I have Canon camera A40 and WIN ME which works fine. When I try to view my pictures that I took from my camera to the computer using a USB port,I get an error code OX8004b55.. It tells me to restore my data base which I try to do but it won't work. The program worked OK a couple of weeks ago. I can view my pictures when I put the chip in the USB reader\writer. to my computer. I considered reinstalling my CD---but if I do will it delete all the pictures that I have installed in the program. It will be a pain in the butt to download the pictures again.

Thanks

cant u copy all of your pictures to a diffeernt place, then reinstall? before doing this though, i would just reinstall the drivers.
goto your camera companys website, and you should be able ti find them pretty easily there.

I did some research on your camera and I found a couple of things that might help.
1. If the program freezes, or your computer has trouble while you are using Zoom Browser EX, the database may be corrupted.
If this occurs, follow the procedure below to restore the database.

The following procedure is for Zoom Browser EX Ver.3.xx users.
Follow the procedure below to check the Zoom Browser EX version.
a. Start Zoom Browser EX.
b. The version number is displayed under the "ZOOMBROWSER" logo in the top right corner of Zoom Browser EX startup screen.

Solution
a. Start Zoom Browser EX.
b. Once Zoom Browser is started, select [Database] from the [File] menu on the tool bar.
c. In the [Zoom Browser EX database] dialog box click [Restore].
d. A dialog box is displayed with a message asking whether you want to continue the process. Click [OK}.
e. The [Restoration is successfully completed] message is displayed when restoration is complete.
To complete this procedure, click [OK].

2. You can also upgrade your Zoom Browser EX, from Canon’s web site to Version 4.0.2.
you can download the upgrade from
