Hi lotusblossom, I've had the same problem with my Logitech cordless mousey (and man is it annoying!). Before you get your screwdriver out take a look at - http://www.ntcompatible.com/Fix_for_Sti ... t8816.html .

After spotting this, I switched my cordless mousey receiver from USB to the pin socket*, and after a restart the problem has not reappeared!

*through the adaptor they kindly supplied

The link gives some commenary on what is going wrong and why the changeover should work. If you are running yours through the USB port then this may work for you!

Best of luck, let us know how you get on.

I'm going to go on the assumption that you have about 4 USB ports you can access.

If say you have six USB devices, and each gets plugged into each and every port, you have installed 24 devices. USB printers and scanners will really act strange especially if they are hot sync'ed to a different port than the original install.

If the USB hardware starts acting squirrelly, go into device manager and remove all of the USB and reboot. This usually brings everything back to normal. You might be prompted for drivers on reboot
